S Systems, Inc. is an established digital signal processing consulting firm specializing in the audio and music industries.

As a sideline, John Strawn (the founder of S Systems, Inc.) is available as a recruiter ("headhunter"), accepting assignments since 1995 mostly related to DSP (hardware, software) but also including multimedia, telecommunications, embedded programming, and the like. I have filled software positions involving assembler as well as high-level languages. Hardware positions have included board-level design and FPGA work. I have successfully placed candidates (entry-level through Ph.D./vice president) at the following firms:

I also have experience as a manager in industry (see my on-line resume for details) so I appreciate the importance of finding suitable employees. I work with the employer to specify the position description; I send to the employer only the resumes that fit the specifications. If requested by an employer, I follow through on checking references. I can work in strictest confidence if this is needed by the candidate or the employer. Recruiting fees are standard for the recruiting industry; there is no premium recruiting fee for my in-house technical expertise. A fee is due only if the company hires one of my candidates. All fees are paid by the hiring company, not by any candidate. I sometimes accept equity in place of a paid recruiter's fee.
